I CARRY A LARGE INVENTORY OF PARTS DIRECT FROM HOHNER

info at harmonicarepair dot com
Over the past several years I've made several changes in the services I offer based on players'
needs and wants and my ability to do the work in a reasonable amount of time. After reviewing
the most requested services of the past several years I decided to drop some services while improving
others. If you have visited this site in the past please take time to review the updates. I've
dropped services that were either in little demand or were too time consuming.
Turnaround Times
I understand your concern with not wanting to wait 6 months to 2 years to receive your
new or repaired harmonica. Turnaround time on repair work and new harmonicas varies
according to the amount of work I have in the shop. Unfortunately as business increases
turnaround time increases as well.
I ask that you send no more then 1 harmonica for repair during busy seasons. It may
be necessary from time to time to refuse new business until the backlog is handled first.
While the current turnaround time is about
8 weeks I would like to reduce that. Your
cooperation will help to keep turnaround times to a minimum while still providing top
quality service.
Please contact me before you ship any harps for repair or restoration.
Vacation
Starting in 2007 I will be taking the months of June thru August off for R&R. It may be
necessary to back off incoming orders in the months of April and May so I can finish what
is in the shop before taking a break.
All prices quoted are in US currency.
New Services
PARTS, Parts and more parts!
Starting now I will be offering NOS parts from in house inventory for many vintage and
classic Hohner chromatics as well as the Educator diatonic and combs and cover plates
for the classic 20 hole Septets. Email me for current prices and availability. I also
carry reeds for standard 260/270/280 C chromatics. I reserve the right to limit quantities
sold. No dealers please.

Hohner Chromatic Harmonicas
I no longer customize customer owned chromatic harmonicas, however, restoration and repair
services are still available.
Professional Custom setup
is a painstakingly built chromatic made for those that perform solely on chromatics.
The cost reflects the extra time spent on reworking the comb, reed plates and mouthpiece.
The harmonicas are built from scratch with attention to detail paid to each part as it is
assembled. The harmonica is built from the inside out with most of the attention paid to
the reed setup. Key of C chromatics only.

I also offer external springs for 260/270/280 type chromatics similar to the
original Hohner chromatic design but better.
External springs can be added for right or left hand playing.
External Spring
$18
The spring will be mounted right hand unless specified. The steel spring metal is
custom cut for each harmonica and mounted with screws. It can easily disengage from
the slide button for easy removal of the mouthpiece for cleaning.
Repair and Restoration Services
I repair/replace plastic, wood and metal combs for Hohner 260, 270, 280, Meisterklasse
and CBH 2016 chromatics.
Basic services
$15
General Cleaning of all parts and harmonica checked for cracks in plastic and
wood combs, missing or damaged windsavers, fatigued or out of tune reeds and
other areas where problems may arise. Basic service does not provide repair,
restoration or replacement of parts. Those services are listed below.
Since Blues players rarely make full use of the chrome as a chromatic instrument
I broke down the tuning costs per reedplate.
